Sew Copyrighted

Well it’s on folks that’s for sure. I was given this link by a supporter and I thought I would share it so you can all get a very good understanding about how copyright applies to sewing patterns, which would include bag patterns.

Patterns and how they are affected by Copyright Laws

It is clear to me and anyone that looks carefully, that the Puppet Baby Gear Bag is not infringing on COPYRIGHT nor PATENT as:

  1. Neither exist
  2. No other pattern exists
  3. They are totally different in dimension

Let’s take a look at my other pattern for a minute the Coffee Caddy Tote Bag.

I did not invent the square.

I did not invent handles.

I did not invent dividers.

But I put all of these elements together and showed you how to do it in a pattern, so that you can use a square with handles to carry your coffees around while being kind on the environment.

To claim copyright NOW on a side piece that encasses zippers is like trying to claim copyright for the zipper.

Also the book is being written and a publisher has approached me Sewing Wars will be out before xmas. I wonder if they will try to copyright history as well.

It’s the quick and the not so quick. Do what you say or be beaten to market. That’s how it goes. You had 3 years, time’s up.

Carry on – and let fear guide you forward to action.
