Sew Much Struggle

I know! Everyone on the planet is struggling. Well not everyone, but usually it’s been a struggle to get to wherever they are.

Sales make the world go around. You buy from me so I can buy from somewhere else. It’s a constant spin cycle of money. So let me ask you would you throw more good money after bad?

How many promises are broken? I lost count. How long have people waited – nearly a year. When was the first mention of a motherlode pattern – 2015. When was the workshop absolutely going to get started and go up – 15 March 2017. This particular date is remarkable because it led to a record zipper order and purchase – some of which have still not been delivered by the way.

Promote what? A pattern that isn’t done for a workshop that is still not up?

Where else can you possibly buy zippers in all the world for less? sewzippityfabrics.com for one. They have 30 colors of zipper by the yard which is the best way to buy zippers at all if you go through a lot of them.

Become a member of what? Workshops that are available for free. Non existent workshops for patterns that you can get for free, and video tutorials on youtube for free. You want to pay $129.00 for a deeper discount on zippers? Let me tell you they are marked up above retail, then you take the 22% (used to be 30%) VIP discount off and you’re left with a higher price than what is listed on most retail sites. Colors? Is that what draws you? Most people have at least 60 colors listed as a matter of course. If you can’t find your color in 60 colors, and would rather pay above retail and wait months to get them – if at all – go right ahead. Threads? Same deal but you can get all the superior threads at Sew Zippty not just King Tut.

There are many places to spend your money. Many things to invest in. Many patterns to buy that exist. Many workshops that exist – for free. Struggle is real for all of us. Thanks to her my house is gone and I don’t have any business left – all because I put my hand up to help and was made the scapegoat of the year.

An independent woman with her own accommodation, a whole studio space, thousands of dollars of sewing equipment and video equipment, a family supporting her, 2 technical crews, 5 admins and moderators – they have no problem at all. Working out where to cook your next meal – that’s a problem.

Carry on – and let fear guide you forward to action.
