Sew You Really Can’t Have it Both Ways

Someone got very brave. I thank you a great deal. I will continue the discussion here again, free from harassment, fear and hatred and lies.

Sew Demented brought out a beautiful pattern the Sew Together Bag. We link to it in our patterns puppets recommend. This had 3 zipper pockets and the front piece could be used as a tray.

This brought rise to an extended tray which is now claimed to be the invention and owned by fat cheeks.

There was a huge argument that ensued about this. They basically went to war over it and both bags were suspended from Craftsy for a month until it could get sorted. Both bags went back up for sale.

We have discussed this before but it is worth repeating here. NO CONSTRUCTION METHODS OF ANY BAG ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD CAN BE PATENTED NOR OBTAIN COPYRIGHT. It is a common construction technique and no-one owns it.

So if I want to take an existing bag, or construction technique and put my own spin on it to create a variation of an existing known universal item (a bag) and then write a list of instructions as to how I achieved this feat (a pattern) I am well within my rights to do so.

I used your own argument and won. The bags are different.

You cannot now use that argument at me to win. YOU CANNOT HAVE IT BOTH WAYS or should I say JUST YOUR WAY. 

I was inspired by a bag I saw that could be improved upon and I did. I made it bigger, I made it smaller, I made it iddy biddy keyring size. I added pockets. I added features and I also have 3 different ways you can construct it – again not just YOUR WAY. I don’t think everybody has enough wonder clips to do it your way.

So suck it up fat cheeks. You were beaten at your own game.

Just cos you yell louder and are meaner and threaten everyone with eviction from your groups for having an opinion – does not mean you are right.
